Why our prices are what they are

Metro Disposal Fees
$30 minimum to $180+ per load at Metro Central & Metro South transfer stations. The biggest driver of our price.
2-Person Crew
Two licensed, insured crew members on every job. We do the loading — you watch.
Fuel & Truck
Diesel at Portland rates (~$6/gal), plus vehicle maintenance and the Portland Metro surcharge on haulers.
Fair Margin
We price to stay in business and do good work — not to be the cheapest and cut corners, not to overcharge.

Special Item Pricing

Some items carry a surcharge because they cost more to dispose of or require extra labor. These are added to your load price — always disclosed before we start.

Mattress or Box Spring
+$35 each
Metro charges a dedicated mattress surcharge. We recycle them through a certified processor — not the landfill.
Refrigerator, AC, or Dehumidifier
+$35 each
Freon (refrigerant) must be recovered by a certified EPA Section 608 technician before disposal. That's on us.
TV or Computer Monitor
+$25 each
Oregon e-cycles requires electronic waste go to a certified recycler, not a landfill. We route these correctly.
Tires
+$20 each
Metro restricted item. We deliver them to an authorized tire recycling facility — not our general haul.
Hot Tub
+$225
Disconnection, disassembly, and heavy disposal. Requires extra crew time — this one's a project. Always quoted on-site.
Upright Piano
+$175
Heavy lift requiring extra crew. Quoted before booking — we'll confirm weight and access on the phone.
Construction Debris (heavy)
+$75–$150
Concrete, drywall, and tile weigh significantly more than regular junk. Disposal fees scale with weight at Metro stations.
Paint, Chemicals, Hazmat
We can't take it
Oregon law. Hazardous waste goes to Metro's free drop-off sites (free to residents). We'll point you to the nearest one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did your prices increase from what I saw before?

We updated our pricing in 2026 to reflect what jobs actually cost. Metro Portland transfer station fees run $30–$180+ per load, diesel is around $6/gal, and we run a 2-person crew on every job. Our old pricing wasn't covering costs at scale — these rates let us stay in business and do the job right without cutting corners on disposal or crew quality.

What determines junk removal cost in Portland?

Junk removal pricing is based primarily on volume — how much space your items take up in the truck. Additional factors include item weight (appliances, concrete, hot tubs cost more due to higher disposal fees at Metro transfer stations), accessibility (stairs, tight hallways, basement entries), and item type. We confirm your price upfront after seeing the job — it won't change after we start.

Do you charge by item or by load?

We price by load, not by item. Once we see what you've got, we give you one flat price that covers everything in the truck — no per-item fees, no surprise add-ons. Single-item jobs start at $149 for one piece of furniture or a small appliance.

Are there extra fees for heavy items like hot tubs, pianos, or appliances?

Some items carry a flat surcharge because they require extra labor or special disposal. Hot tubs need disconnection and disassembly. Pianos require multiple crew members. Appliances need certified refrigerant recovery. We'll tell you about any surcharges upfront before you book — no surprises on the final bill.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes — on-site estimates are always free. We'll confirm your price after seeing the items, and that price is what you pay. There's no charge to come look at the job. Call us at (971) 298-3636 or use our online quote form to get started.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, credit card, and Venmo. Payment is collected after the job is complete and you've approved the result. We don't ask for payment upfront.
